Diana K. Brown, LPCA

Diana Brown joined the practice in January of 2021. She was a Xavier University student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. Diana graduated with her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May of 2022. She continued her work post-graduation with clients here at Positively Speaking Counseling as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) under April Jones’ clinical supervision since 10/3/22.

Diana is interested in assisting folks ages 13 and up who are struggling with anxiety, depression and trauma. Diana uses CBT & DBT strategies and is trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well.

“I provide counseling services to teens, adults and the elderly. I believe that no matter what the age group, contentment with one’s life is valued by most (if not all) people. I believe that contentment is found primarily by focusing on the beneficial aspects of reality (rather than the detrimental). This type of thought focus/management is a technique found in forms of counseling such as CBT. As a former teacher, I particularly like CBT because once the skills are learned, clients become self reliant (in the sense that they can apply the learned skills to maintain their mental wellness throughout their lives).”

“The adage ‘give a man a fish and he eats for a day or teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime’ is an adage I take seriously as a mental health counselor.”

“Please contact me if this type of approach appeals to you and your idea of striving to live your ‘best mental health life’!”

Her self-pay rate is $90 per session to all new self-pay clients and is in-network with most major insurances!

Diana has no openings for new clients at this time, but may in January 2026; Her hours are every Wednesday & Thursday evening 430pm-645pm and every other Saturday 930am-2pm!

“How will I ever get over this? What seems to be the matter with me? What’s wrong with me? Sometimes we find ourselves asking these questions in the lonely, but loud parts of our mind. Life can be painful, especially when we feel alone, less than, and can’t identify our motivations, pursuits, and dreams. I would like to encourage you along your path of finding connection with others and yourself through meaningful explorations of what it is you desire. Through this we might be able to provide some understanding, relief, and upward striving towards your life goals. How will I ever get over this? What seems to be the matter with me?
